Budget and Expectations
Due to the type of work that we do, we feel that it would be a good exercise to show how far a certain budget will get you, how that quote is achieved, and how the process unfolds from start to finish.
Example
1980 Chevy C10
Replace Inner/Outer Rocker both sides - Labor 10hrs each side
Replace Cab Corner both sides - Labor 3 to 5hrs each side
Replace Drivers floor - Labor 5 to 7hrs
Replace lower section of kick panel - Labor 2 to 4 hours
Sheet metal parts $250
Materials $300
For this vehicle to be in primer at time of pick up: 41hrs of labor x $100/hr + $550 in materials. Final cost would be about $4650.
Before any work begins, the vehicle would be visually inspected and photos and notes would be taken for documentation, in order to provide you with a quote. During our consultation, we go over your concerns and current work load in order to give you an estimated time frame. If you choose to move forward, a work authorization form would be sent with a copy of the estimate. At time of drop off, the form would need to be signed with 1/3 of the estimated amount included to cover initial expenses.
Vintage vehicles are expensive and we try our best to set realistic expectations.
But sometimes if there is rust here, there’s also rust there, which does increase labor and material costs.
